Events for the Winter Season

What’s going on around the Marina, particularly for new arrivals, and some plans……

• Yoga – Monday’s, Wednesday’s and Friday’s – 8:15am in the Marina Hotel Spa.
• Mexican Train Domino’s – Monday evenings from 7pm in the Marina Hotel Bar – the burgee is already flying over Clemmy – new players always welcome for a very social game
• Computer Users Group,Tuesday mornings at 10:30am in Spinnakers – lots of advice and trouble-shooting available.
• Bridge – beginners and the more experienced most welcome – Tuesday afternoons in Spinnakers from 1:30 pm
• Line Dancing will start in mid-October, and it’s hoped to get a Music Group going, once again starting in October when some folks return to the Marina, and possibly some Sunday Fun Sailing if we can find a committee boat and participants.
• The Lagos Strollers will be starting their activities at some stage so please do check the Forum for details.
• And of course the Marina has posted a list of “events” for the Winter

Any other ideas for events most welcome.

For info if you are thinking of selling

I spoke to the broker who sold my Jeanneau 36i recently. He is based in the UK with offices in Brighton and Chichester.
Much to my amazement, he is very short of good stock boats to sell. (He sold B’for earlier this year).
So if any of the Lagos Navigators are thinking about changing boats, or just selling, it may well be worth giving him a call.
All of my dealings with the company were first rate and I would thoroughly recommend them – unlike some of the previous brokers I have battled with!
If you have any interest, email me via peter@lagosnavigators.net and I will send you his details.

A salutary lesson

I found this a terrifying read for loads of reasons.

But possibly the scariest one is that if the yacht skippers automatic life jacket had not failed to inflate, he probably would have drowned wedged agains the underside of the coach roof, like his poor wife.

Here’s the MAIB link,

I think I’m correct in saying that the first mate of Shoreway is presently incarcerated….
